Не Со Мной?

I wrote a lot of negative things and I feel better now. Well, better than before at least. Hope springs eternal. :-/

Shut Up and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

That's what you get for waking up in Vegas
Get up and shake the glitter off your clothes now
That's what you get for waking up in Vegas

Greetings Professor Falken. You are a hard man to reach. Could not find you in Seattle and no terminal is in operation at your classified address.

If you are female, Eastern European, between the ages of 22 and 30, moderately attractive+, and know what movie the above quote is from, it is imperative that I take you to dinner.

Haha, anyways...

June 2nd I took a holy random trip to Houston with two of my Taiko bros - CT and Victor the vegetarian. CT texted me the day before to see if I was down and of course I was since I had that particular day off from work. As always there was originally more people planning to go but it ended up being just the three of us. We met up at TI's place that morning planning to leave at 7am but I don't think we left until around almost nine due to CT having to run to OKC to acquire a GPS device. Once we were off we were good...except for the fact that Victor and I hadn't slept and CT only had 3 hours of sleep. Awesome!

The trek to H-Town would undoubtedly be fraught with boredom so to help keep that lingering menace at bay we came up with some...games to play. And being a degenerate gambler I convinced the non-degenerate gamblers to throw some gambling in the mix. We came up with two trip-length games to play: forbidden word and forbidden phrase. Forbidden Word is played by selecting a single word and declaring it forbidden. And whenever someone says the forbidden word they are forced to pay a penalty. In our case every time you said the forbidden word you contributed a dollar to a pot. We ended up choosing the word "what". We decided that whenever we got to Long's place we would high-card and whoever won gets whatever's in the pot.

The second trip-length game we decided to play was Forbidden Phrase. Pretty much the same thing as Forbidden Word except a phrase. We chose any phrase relating to hunger and the first person to say it buys the other two bubble tea upon arriving in Houston. I didn't want the loser to lose something big because I figured I had the biggest chance of losing this one, haha.

We originally were planning on not eating until we got to Houston (lol) but Long pressed for us to eat lunch so we decided to stop and get some pho in Dallas. It was the same place Tony, Loan, and I ate on our way to Houston. Having lunch made the second trip-length game much much easier.

Upon arriving in Houston we headed to the big Asian mall where I again purchased a strawberry slurpy with boba and banh bao. We chilled there until Long got off work and headed to his place. After we arrive we pontificate various activities to engage in after dinner. Long is awesome and got some good tickets to the Astros game so we decided on that after sushi with Quoc.

Several rolls, sake bombs, and glasses of Asahi later we end up at Minute Maid stadium. I'm in full team spirit mode and decide to buy an Astros hat. Unfortunately it's a little too tight and I ended up forgetting to exchange it before we left so bleh. It's ok, beer and hot dogs made it better. We stayed for maybe four innings before heading out to the closest thing that resembled a casino: Dave & Busters.
[lol @ writing this in June. I'm just going to stop and continue from whatever's happened recently. Oh well.]
Haha, so yeah. Today is Sunday, July 26th and I'm currently at work. Sundays are always slow. So, recently?
Thursday night Stanley had scheduled a quasi-brotherhood event which consisted of a home game with the fellas. All of us hadn't played in a home game in forever so we all really needed this. When I get there Stanley asked me if I had my KEM cards. Hmm. No, I actually had no clue as to their location. Well, I did. The last place I saw them was at the Taiko house but you can't really rely on that as a credible information with regards to an item's location. Perhaps they were with the other gambling items that were moved to TI's place. We looked, no luck. Now I started getting upset.
I actually had this conversation with Katherine earlier in the week while we partook of mojitos at Louie's. I'm just too nice. I let people borrow things without them ever being returned to on time or in their original condition. I don't allow my inconvenience to interfere with favors people ask, sometimes despite the severe gravity of the favor's inconvenience to me. And no matter how many times people do this I still continue to aid them when asked. All of this with little or no gratitude. There also exist times when I think I'm being taken advantage of, but maybe I'm just paranoid. The bottom line is that there is just no respect. It's time for BC to learn to say no.
Getting back on topic, we end up using some of Hieu's cards and we actually played nine-handed for several hours. I'd talk about some of the hands but I'm feeling pretty lazy at the moment due to eating a footlong sub plus a bag of chips...ugh. Anyways, I actually had to open the next morning which meant I had to be there at 5am. We played for so long we had to cut the game short around 4:15am so I could go get ready for work, haha. Ended up leaving even but had some crazy swings.
I don't think I wrote about it yet but I got another promotion at work. I open now which I like a lot better than closing. More responsibilities, store keys, alarm codes, safe combos, etc. Neato.
Actually I don't feel like writing much right now. I'll make the rest short.
Ended up working for twelve hours that day (Friday) but due to no fault of my own this time, haha. Had plans to go eat at Eischen's with Tony, Loan, Charlie, and Katherine. We were meeting to leave at Tony's place and I decided to get there a little early to hit up the bar downstairs. LOL BAD IDEA
I had no sleep, intense 12-hour shift, and nothing to eat all day. Why didn't I learn my lesson from NYE???? Haha. So I had two Manhattans, one of which was like a double because the bartender didn't make enough so he just filled the rest up with bourbon, and a double shot kamikaze. Sorry, Tony. Sorry, Loan. Sorry, Charlie. Sorry, Katherine.
It hit me once we got to NW Expressway and I just passed out. I woke up to walk to our booth at Eischen's and passed out. Sometime while we were eating somebody told me to eat a wing. I took a small bite, tasted the grease, and worked hard not to vomit. I went #1 on the way out and it did not look healthy, rofl.
I was out on the way back to Tony's place and started to be able to stay awake once we got there. I was fucking starving so I immediately ordered some Papa John's when we got to Tony's apartment. I was still in the mood for chicken so I ordered the Hawaiin BBQ Chicken pizza. We "watched" the movie Rope. It was eh. Apparently I have narcolepsy.
Work the next day at 2pm, it was all right. My brother and I are caught up with The Office so now we're looking for another thing to watch. Last night also consisted of watching the first two episodes of the new season of Hell's Kitchen and the movie Phantasm. HK was meh, Phatasm was retarded.
And it's Sunday and I'm working. I have tomorrow off, then I open Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday off, working Friday 2-close, Saturday off. I wish I wasn't working Friday.
Hmm...what else?
If you didn't already know, I've taken up learning Russian as a hobby. It's going well but I've been neglecting it lately. :(
That's about it for now, kiddos. <3
